  • Area of Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    As the Safety Officer, your role will involve collaborating with various departments to foster a culture of safety within HAL’s state-of-the-art facilities. Some of your core responsibilities will include:

    1. Advisory & Planning: Assisting management in planning and implementing safety measures to prevent workplace accidents and ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
    2. Safety Audits: Conducting detailed job safety studies and plant safety inspections to evaluate physical working conditions, and recommending corrective actions to address unsafe practices.
    3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Advising on the selection and procurement of high-quality safety equipment for workers.
    4. Accident Investigation & Reporting: Investigating industrial accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near-miss incidents, and maintaining necessary records related to workplace injuries.
    5. Training & Development: Organizing safety campaigns, training programs, and awareness initiatives to foster a safety-first mindset among employees.
    6. Regulatory Compliance: Coordinating with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and legal requirements.
    7. Safety Committees: Leading the formation of safety committees and acting as a catalyst for promoting safe working conditions.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Educational Qualifications:

      • Option 1: Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (any discipline) or its equivalent, along with a Full-time Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institution, OR
      • Option 2: Full-time Master’s Degree in Industrial Safety (2-year program) from a recognized university or institution.
    • Experience: Candidates must have at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in safety management or a related field.

    • Important Notes:

      • Qualifications acquired through Part-time/Correspondence/Distance Education will not be considered.
      • Candidates must declare all their qualifications (completed and ongoing) in the application form.

    Age Limit and Relaxations

    • Upper Age Limit: 30 years as of September 16, 2024.
    • Age relaxations are applicable as follows:
      • SC/ST: Up to 5 years
      • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Up to 3 years
      • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Up to 10 years
      • Candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between January 1, 1980, and December 31, 1989: 5 years of relaxation
    • Please note that the upper age limit with all relaxations will not exceed 56 years for candidates from the PwBD category.

    Selection Procedure

    The selection process for the Safety Officer position at HAL includes:

    1. Shortlisting of Candidates: Applications will be screened based on qualifications, relevant experience, and other credentials.
    2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview. The exact date, time, and venue for the interview will be communicated via email.

    Candidates will be called for an interview in a ratio of 1:10 (i.e., for each position, a maximum of 10 candidates will be shortlisted).
